  Ghrelin is an orexigenic peptide hormone synthesized predominantly in stomach and hypothalamus.Ghrelin achieves its biological functions by activating the growth hormone secretagogue receptor 1a(GHS-R1a)which is widely distributed in the central nervous system.Our previous study showed that local infusion of ghrelin into lateral amygdala(LA)activates its receptor GHS-R1a and blocks the acquisition of conditioned taste aversion(CTA).
