Sulfur is an important element that is involved in the whole processing of hydrocarbon producton.Sulfur compounds might create processing problems for hydrocarbon processing and might pose a negative impact on product quality.They may cause corrosion and permanently poison expensive catalysts.Due to these reasons, as well as the environmental damage they may cause when burned, most regulatory bodies such as the EPA have passed laws to limit their presence in hydrocarbon products.
