In vivo toxicity evaluation of graphene oxide and the underlying mechanism in Caenorhabditis elegans

  Due to the special physiochemical properties,graphene oxide(GO)has shown great potential in biomedical applications.Caenorhabditis elegans is a well-established in vivo model for toxicological testing in both biomedical and environmental fields.With the aid of C.elegans,we found that both prolonged and chronic exposure to GO caused damage on functions of both primary(intestine)and secondary(neuron and/or reproductive organ)targeted organs.
