Climate change extreme events and secondary hazards are emerging threats to singul valley of District Ghizer,Gilgit Baltistan; the valley is located along the Ghizer River and under HinduKush mountain range of Pakistan.The key tools used during the study were primary and secondary data collection from communities,concern departments,personal observation and historical data collection.Major hazards were flash floods,heavy rain falls,cloud burst,lightening,melting of snow,Nullah erosion,mud flow,debris flow and land sliding.Risk and vulnerability of the area for flash floods was higher than other hydro- metrological hazards.100% respondent accepted climate change has been occurred in the study area and impacts have been increased in the area from last three decades.655 hectors agri land,ten bridges 15 roads,13 schools,163 homes,5 transmission line, three basic health units,two hospitals,I veterinary hospital,20 water channels,8 water and sanitation systems and three mosques were under serious threats of hydro- metrological hazards.According to the communities and historical profile; severe floods over the last few decades were occurred in the district like in 1905,2005,2006 and 2010-11.In the study area of Kishot and Thingdass were highly vulnerable for climatical hazards.The study enabled to understand the internal and external factors influencing the processes of the overall hydro metrological hazards and climate change impacts in the valley.
