In the work,main results obtained at the V.E.Zuev Institute of Atmospheric Optics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences on problems of passive satellite sensing of the Earth surface are considered.The emphasis is on the results of investigations obtained in the last few years and associated with the development of software-information complex that allows the influence of the atmosphere on the characteristics of light fluxes measured with the help of space-based or airborne optoelectronic devices to be taken into account.Two approaches to the atmospheric correction of satellite images are considered.
