Objectives Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is an important treatment option of early esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and high grade intraepithelial neoplasia (HGIN).ESD achieves complete resection rates superior to EMR, but is technically demanding and comprises higher procedural risks.A novel technique multiband mucosectomy (MBM) can be performed in these patients.This study aims to evaluate the efficacy, safety of ESD versus MBM in the management of ESCC and HGIN.
