Objective Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) maintains long-term persistence in the host and combats oxidative stress via diverse antioxidant proteins, which are expected to be relevant to bacterial-associated diseases. Our previous studies in vitro showed that H.pylori with high Trx1 expression might be associated with gastric carcinogenesis. Here, we want to confirm the relationship between H.pylori Trx1 and gastric cancer and examine whether H.pylori Trx1 protein itself can promote gastric tumorigenesis.
