Background Dual antiplatelet therapy is the standard treatment after coronary stenting.CYP2C19 is the key enzyme of biological metabolism to oxidize clopidogrel.The aim of our study is to investigate the correlation between CYP2C19 polymorphism and the prognosis of patients undergoing PCI who are taking clopidogrel Methods The 242 patients who suffered from CHD and hospitalized in Zhongda Hospital affiliated to Southeast University from May to July 2012 were enrolled.During their stay in hospital,all patients took 300 mg loading dose of aspirin and clopidogrel one day before undergoing PCI and daily maintenance dose of dual anti-platelet after.Blood samples were taken within 48 hours after admission.We analyzed the genotype of CYP2C19 by polymerase chain reaction and southern blot.These patients were followed up by telephone survey and electronic data of re-hospitalization.We further examined the relationship between polymorphism of CYP2C19 and cardiac events during following time.
