Fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology remains the best-established diagnostic test for evaluation of thyroid nodules and substantially reduced the need for thyroid surgery to exclude malignancy.However, 15% to 30% of thyroid nodules cannot be conclusively diagnosed by FNA cytology alone and are categorized as indeterminate,Such diagnostic ambiguity often request repeat FNA, and in some cases, the need for diagnostic lobectomy for a definitive histologic diagnosis.
