Magnetite is the oldest known magnet and a multifunctional oxide used in a wide diversity of applications, ranging from biomedicine to Hydrogen storage or novel electronics.Most of these applications rely on low dimensional forms, and in particular, ultrathin magnetite films constitute a basic building block for magnetic heterojunctions in spintronics.
