MicroRNAs是一类小的内源性非编码核糖核酸。其主要通过对信使核糖核酸(mRNAs)的降解或阻止其翻译来对基因的表达进行调控。在人体，约三分之一的基因受这类微核糖核酸的直接调控，而且更多的基因可受其间接性调控。
