Monitoring and controlling of individual production stages with fast and reliable measurement techniques is one of the key factors in modern production processes leading to an increase both in cost-effectiveness as well as quality assurance.NIR diode array spectroscopy-a technique which is suited for robust process environments-allows f or measurements within the fractions of a second without destroying the sample or interfering with the process.Due to the modular concept of the PSS measurement system,production processes can easily be equipped with a variety of fiber optic coupled probes and optical multiplexers hence enabling multi-channel measurements.A brief introduction will be given,showing how post dispersive spectroscopic measurements can be used for monitoring o f fast r eactions in in dustrial p roduction p rocesses le ading to q uantitative r esults b eing d isplayed immediately.By doing so,the operator will be enabled to follow the changes o f his products during the chemical reactions and to use the parameters derived for the automated process control.Summary: The PSS system family is a versatile and flexible solution process applications.
