Beryllium intermetallic compounds(beryllides)such as Be12Ti,Be12V,are the most promising advanced neutron multipliers in demonstration power reactors because of low swelling and high stability at high temperature. As a part of the Broader Approach activities on DEMO R&D for the International Fusion Energy Research Centre(IFERC)project,we have successfully fabricated single phase Be12Ti and Be12V pebbles by a novel combinational process of plasma sintering and rotating electrode methods. In parallel to successful fabrication of binary beryllides pebbles, new development of ternary beryllides has been started to look into preferable composition of the pebbles in terms of mass production and better properties. As a result of pebble granulation,Be-Ti-V pebbles have been preliminarily fabricated and it was obvious that Be12Ti0.3V0.7 and Be12Ti0.1V0.9 pebbles indicated not only no Be phase in the pebble but also low reactivity at high temperature.
