4-(Trifluoromethoxy)nitrobenzene isthe raw material of trifluoromethoxy aniline,which can be widely used as intermediates in pesticides,pharmaceuticals and liquid crystal material.It is mainly produced by reacting trifluoromethoxybenzene with nitric acid using concentrated sulfuric acid as catalyst.The reaction,which is a typical exothermic and heterogeneous reaction,poses a challenge on process transport.We carry out the nitration reaction in a stainless steel microchannel reactor(Figure 1),which ameliorates the transport process by higher interfacial surface areas and shorter diffusion paths[1].The effect of reaction temperature,residence time and sulfuric acid strength are systemly investigated,aiming at higher4-(trifluoromethoxy)nitrobenzene yield.
