Fenton reaction,which produces hydroxyl radical via reaction cycle of Fe2+ oxidation and Fe3+ reduction with H2O2 1,can be applied to wastewater treatment of recalcitrant organics.However,due to the low reaction rate of reduction,a high amount of Fe2+ must be added to degrade the organics by the oxidation of Fe2+,which eventually leads to massive iron sludge.To overcome the drawback,in this study,the initial [Fe2+] was reduced by the limit of law regulation(0.16 mM),while a novel photo-microreactor was developed to enhance the reaction rates both of oxidation and reduction even with low iron cone.
