The last couple of decades have seen a panacea of technological advances in genomics research. These include sequencing of the entire human genome and hence the knowledge of disease related genes and the discovery of small interfering RNAs and micro RNAs leading to the concept of RNA interference. On the other hand, there has been substantialprogress in the nanotechnology and nanoscience front, which include the advances in nanodevices and applications of these nano-scale technologies to diagnosis and novel drug delivery applications. The manage of genomics knowledge with nanoseale technologies has furthered both the basic and the translational knowledge of biology and drug and therapeutic development.Examples of successful cancer applications of combined genomics and nanotechnology will be discussed with particular focus on cell specific delivery of si-and micro-RNAs, and their potential applications.
