  Modem electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is effective in depression and is well tolerated.There is a wide range in numbers of treatments required for individual response.Few studies have compared response to electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) or bipolar disorder, depressed (BDD) (DSM-IV).We therefore reviewed the charts of psychiatric in patients with MDD or BDD who received open treatment with right unilateral ECT.
