Background To validate cadherin-17 (CDH 17) as a potential therapeutic target for gastric cancer (GC) and to investigate the antitumor mechanisms associated with CDH17 inhibition in GC.Methods GC tissue microarray (TMA) assay was performed to characterize the expression of CDH17 in Chinese population (n=216).Conditional overexpression and knockdown of CDH17 was to assays to investigate the functional role of CDH17 in tumor biology in vitro and in vivo.Antibody array and immunoblotting assay were used to investigate the signaling mechanism of CDH 17 in GC.
