Selectively leaching of a sphalerite with high indium and iron content in sulfuric acid-oxygen media has been studied in the present paper.The variables considered in the study were particle size, concentration of sulfuric acid, partial pressure of oxygen, leaching temperature, and leaching time.The experimental data indicated that when the solid:liquid ratio was maintained constant at 1∶5 g/ml, agitated at a speed of 600 rpm, 500g/t addition of sodium lignosulfonate lignin, 14% of sulfuric acid concentration, 120min leaching at 140℃ and 1200 kPa oxygen partial pressure, the extraction percent of zinc and indium is 98.98% and 89.57%, respectively.The iron was co-dissolved about 4.72%.The mineralogical analysis of the residue showed that most of the sulfur in the sphalerite concentrate oxidized to elemental sulfur.
