Objective This study aims to provide effective and reliable methods to measure the focus doserate,absolute dose accuracy and position accuracy for gamma-ray stereotactic radiotherapy.Materials Inthis study,a PTW-UNIDOS dosimeter,a PTW 0.6cc/PTW-0.125/PTW-0.015 ionization chamber,aPTW-TW60008 semiconductor detector,a EPSON 10000 XL backlight scanner and EBT2(ISP)films wereused to measure the focus dose rate,the absolute dose accuracy and the position accuracy in the process ofquality control for a multi-source gamma knife stereotactic radiotherapy system.Results All of themeasurement results of the three hospitals in Beijing could meet the requirements of "the criteria of γradiation source for head stereotactic radio-surgery".Conclusion Measurement data of focus dose rate,absolute dose accuracy,and position accuracy show that both China-made Gamma knife and importedGamma knife could meet national standards.
