Introduction The family Issidae (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Fulgoroidea) is one of the largest families in Fulgoroidea with approximately 269 genera and 1200 species (Metcalf 1958; Gnezdilov 2005).Since the Issidae was first established in 1839 by Spinola, it received more attention from insect researchers.Many different opinions about the classification system of the family Issidae have been developed, and research mostly focused on morphological characteristics (Bourgoin 1993).
