AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK) has critical roles in regulating cellular energy homeostasis and multiple biological processes,hence an attractive drug target for treating hyperlipidemia.It is well known that AMPK pathway is activated by several naturally occurring compounds,including resveratrol,epigallocatechin gallate,quercetin,theaflavin,berberine,curcumin and ginsenoside,which are structurally similar to polyphenol.The objective of this study was to determine the effects of diterpenoids from Dracocephalum moldavica L.on lipid metabolism of rat fed with high fat diet.
