Background Applying Doppler tissue imaging (DTI) in measuring the Tei index to evaluate the left and right ventricular performance in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), and comparing the Tei index with the ejection fraction (EF) getting from the ultrasound Simpson method, meanwhile, analyzing the existence of the correlation and superiority between the two methods.Furthermore, the Tei index and EF in patients with STEMI pre-and 3 months post-delayed percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were measured to confirm the capacity of Tei index in assessing cardiac function after reconstruction of coronary blood flow.
