Hydrogen production from the steam reforming reaction of glycerol has been studied over char as catalyst in tubular fixed bed reactor. The effects of operating parameters such as temperature,steam/carbon ratio(S/C)and WHSV on hydrogen yield and carbon conversion was examined under atmospheric pressure. The result showed that carbon conversion increase with the increase of temperature and S/C.Ultimately,hydrogen yield and potential hydrogen yield were up to 72.16%and 81.28%,as well as the carbon conversion reached 89.08%at 800℃,S/C=4:1 and WHSV=1.5 h-1.
