　　Metastasis, the main cause of cancer related deaths, remains the greatest challenge in cancer treatment.In the present study, an attempt to simultaneously inhibit the metastasis and growth of tumor by co-delivering p65 shRNA to block NF-kB signaling pathway and anticancer drug doxorubicin (DOX) using a PEGylated, RGD peptide modified, and disulfide cross-linked short polyethylenimines (DSPEIs) functionalized gold nanorod (RDG) on metastatic MDA-MB-435 breast cancer cell line and its pulmonary metastasis mice model.
