　　Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a severe degenerative disease characterized by degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM) with increased matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and inflammatory reaction.Doxycycline (DOX) has been reported to exert therapeutic effects against AAA in animal experiments as well as human trials.
