The application of Electrolyzed Oxidtzing (EO) waterhas been reported lots in Japan,as disinfect liquid,which iswidely used in the medical treatment,food processing,agriculture and environmental protection,etc.To evaluate theeffect of individual properties (pH,oxidation-reduction potential(ORP) and residual chlorine) of EO water,iron and neutralizingbuffer were used.In this paper,we evaluate the properties of EOwater without adding any iron or neutralizing buffer,just to selectdifferent ORP value of the equipment,the disinfectant effect ofEO water on Bacillus subtilis was also studied.It was shown thatthe population of Bacillus subtilis was reduced with the level ofORP raised.The concentration of chloride and residual chlorinewere increased; pH value was reduced with the level of ORPraised.The main factor of antimicrobial activity of EO water wasprobably because of residual chlorine,other factors were pHvalue and ORP value.
