In recent years, peptide hormones have been recognized as important signal molecules in plants.CLAVATA3 (CLV3)/ENDOSPERM SURROUNDING REGION (ESR)-related (CLE) genes encode small peptides that function in a variety of biological processes such as stem cell differentiation, tracheary element (TE) differentiation, embryo development and parasitic interactions in plants, although functions of most members are unknown.Based on CLV3 peptide, we have established an effective antagonistic peptide technology for functional dissection of CLE peptides.
