OBJECTIVE The purpose of the study is to develop novel bacteria cellulose(BC) nanocomposites with optimal mechanical and environmental performance.To develop these cellulosebased nanocomposites is necessary to increase the hydrophobicity of the nanofibers as well as to improve the interface between matrix and fibers.In this study,pure poly(lactic acid)(PLA) and PLA/lipid nanofibers were initially produced by electrospinning and used as mechanical support for the BC growth.The lipid used in this research is stearic acid.Lipid was dissolved into PLA/chloroform/acetone solution before electrospinning.The presence of stearic acid may favor cohesion and water permeability.
