objective Based on the atrial fibrillation data in the Cardiovascular Diseases Database, we make standardized atrial fibrillation disease metadata and data sets to share the information in the Cardiovascular Diseases Database with other hospital information systems.Methods According to business requirements of clinical and scientific research and experts suggestions, we drew up atrial fibrillation case report forms, defined information models and abstracted atrial fibrillation metadata.Then standardized metadata and sets were defined through complying with hospital information standard.Results There are 3 atrial fibrillation case report forms, 647 standardized metadata and 39 standardized data sets established.Conclusions Standardized metadata fundamentally solves the disunify of data name, type and range, and provides a common norm for different information systems.
