　　Nickel Laterites remain important to the future supply of Ni and Co as they contain the bulk of known nickel and cobalt reserves.In this study, low-grade laterites from Philippines were mixed with concentrated sulphuric acid and subjected to roasting,followed by water leaching.Various operating parameters, such as acid concentration,roasting temperature, time, particle size and addition of Na2SO4 were studied.The optimum roasting condition was determined using DOE (design of experiment) method based on roasting temperature and time.
