Background Previous studies have demonstrated that iterative reconstruction could decrease radiation dose while maintaining image quality in cardiovascular computed tomography. However, no study had reported that the image quality and diagnostic accuracy of sinogram affirmed iterative reconstruction (SAFIRE) in coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) as compared to filtered back projection (FBP) in the same patients, using coronary angiography (CA) as the reference standard. In our study, we aimed to evaluate the feasibility of preserving image quality and diagnostic accuracy using a reduced radiation dose reconstructed with SAFIRE.
