晚清资产阶级革命家黄世仲(1872—1913)及其兄黄伯耀(1863—1940)联手创办小说杂志《粤东小说林》、《中外小说林》以及《绘图中外小说林》三种,乃20世纪初所出现以开发民智、鼓吹变革为宗旨的文艺杂志。杂志中,除各类小说及文艺专论以外,并有以岭南方言创作之木鱼、班本、粤讴、南音以及龙舟歌等式样之文学作品发表。品种繁富,姿彩各异,颇能体现其艺术创造天才。
In the late Qing bourgeois revolutionaries Huang Shizhong (1872-1913) and his brother Huang Boyao (1863-1940) jointly created three kinds of fiction magazines such as “Eastern Guangdong Fiction Forest”, “Chinese and Foreign Novel Fiction Forest” and “Chinese and Foreign Fiction Forest” Appear to develop the wisdom of the people, to promote change for the purpose of the literary magazine.
