DH-Tetrahydropalmatine, referred to as THP, is one of the active ingredients of Corydalis yanhusuo and has sedative, tranquilizing and analgesic effects. Determination of THP in fecal matter can be determined by isotope method. This article discusses the use of second-order derivative ultraviolet spectrometry to eliminate other components of the fecal interference, determination of THP content. The method is simpler than the isotope method and has satisfactory results. It provides a good analytical method for pharmacokinetic studies.
