我讀了今年中国青年第20期,看到蔣南翔同志“略論高等学校的教育方針”一文,感到其中有許多很好的意見,但也有不对的地方。現在提出我和南翔同志商榷的意見。一、南翔同志主張“不能把因材施教作为教育方針”的理由是缺乏根据的最近大家正在热烈討論“全面發展、因材施教”是不是可以作为教育方針,从南翔同志这篇文章来看,他是反对这个新提出的方针的。他反对的理由是什么? 第一个理由亦即主要的理由就是:“从根本上来講,我們不能把因材施教作为教育方針的出發点,不能因为因材施教,就根据学生的兴趣和特点来制定發展教育的規划,就完全听学生欢喜学什么就学什么,如果这样实行起来,那么我們国家的教育事業就不可能有计划地發展,我国的高等教育事業就不能最大限
