在综合分析华南1:20万区测和大量煤田地质资料基础上,用筛分古构造形迹与沉积建造相结合的方法,研究了本区晚古生代成煤前的古构造、古地貌输廓,古造构,古地貌对成煤环境的影响,以及它们对晚古生代不同时期聚煤盆地的控制作用。较详细地研究了早石炭世、早二叠世早期、早二叠世晚期、晚二叠世早期聚煤盆地和聚煤带、富煤中心的展布规律, 并对华南晚古生代煤田提出了三个找矿远景区。
