1998年伊始,古典文学名著《水浒传》被改编为电视连续剧并正式搬上荧屏,一时成为街谈巷议的热门话题。《古典文学知识》编辑部要我简单谈论一下《水浒》,盛情难却,姑且略抒已见。还是先从《水浒》原著谈起。这部书的主题思想多年以来多数人都认为是反映农民起义的全过程的,我本人也一直持这个观点。直到近年以来,才有人提出异议。记得若干年前,福建师大中文系丰任齐裕馄同志(他是我的研究生)在撰写《中国古代小说演变史》
