BAM 451是英国Beardow & Adams公司专为生产海底通信光缆配制的热熔融粘合剂.英国STC海底系统公司采用这种粘合剂,把海底光缆12mm厚的高密度聚乙烯护套与高强度钢线加强件隔离开来.把该粘合剂填入所有空隙,在护套和加强件的表面形成可靠的粘合,既可防止高负荷下的受压,又能起防潮作用.这种热熔融粘合剂的问世使STC公司解决了一大难题,即确保缆内没有任何移动.粘合质量极为重要,因为在敷设或打捞作业过程中,当光缆承受8吨张力时,不允许内层出现移动现象.
BAM 451 is a hot melt adhesive specially formulated by Beardow & Adams, UK for the production of optical fiber cables for undersea communications. STC Seabed Systems UK uses this adhesive to bond high-density polyethylene sheathed 12mm thick submarine cables to high strength steel The line stiffener is isolated by filling the adhesive into all voids and forming a reliable bond between the jacket and the stiffener surface, both against compression under high loads and against dampness.
