在网络工程综合实验和组网实验中,需要学生对思科网络设备进行配置以完成网络实验。但由于实验室环境下思科网络设备有限,并且某些网络实验需要比较高端的网络设备才能完成,实验室中难以购置和维护这些高端的设备。在实验室环境中,用PC机模拟真实思科网络设备并在其上进行网络实验有十分重要的现实意义。平台使用Dynamips模拟软件,能够模拟思科产品系列中各种型号的路由器和交换机,并支持直接加载思科的IOS镜像,产生与真实硬件设备完全一样的配置和运行环境。在网络工程综合实验课程上使用Dynamips的虚拟实验平台,产生良好的教学和实验效果,在教学中结合实验室原有的真实网络设备,可以推广到其他的网络相关课程的实验中。
In the network engineering experiment and networking experiments, students are required to configure the Cisco network equipment to complete the network experiment. However, due to the limited network equipment of Cisco in the laboratory environment and the need of some high-end network equipment for some network experiments, it is difficult to purchase and maintain these high-end equipments in the laboratory. In a laboratory environment, it is of great practical significance to simulate real Cisco network equipment with a PC and conduct network experiments on it. The platform uses Dynamips simulation software to simulate various models of routers and switches in the Cisco product line and supports direct loading of Cisco IOS images resulting in exactly the same configuration and operating environment as real hardware devices. The use of Dynamips’ virtual experiment platform in the comprehensive experiment course of network engineering can produce good teaching and experimental results. In teaching, combining with the real network equipment in the laboratory, it can be extended to experiment in other network-related courses.
