虎形象作为图腾符号在中国传统文化中有着悠久的历史,而其衍生出来的布艺老虎作为旧时孩子们玩耍的一种玩具,在一定时期扮演着极其重要的角色,时至今日作为民间传统手工艺文化传承的重要载体它依然存在于各个地域。然而新世纪以来,由于城市化和工业化进程的不断发展,传统手工布老虎的生存状况面临严峻的考验,这也给制作形式单一的民间布老虎工艺提出了新课题。近年来,国家大力扶植和保护创意文化产业以及传统文化再生,提出来一系相关的优惠政策,这对于传统手工艺布老虎转型创意文化产业具有重要意义。
