我们伟大的祖国,曾经是世界上科学文化发达最早的国家之一。我国古代的火药、罗盘针、印刷术这三大发明,为全人类的科学进步事业作出了光辉的贡献。对此,马克思曾给予了高度的评价:“火药、罗盘针、印刷术——这是预兆资产阶级社会到来的三项伟大发明,火药把骑士阶层炸得粉碎,罗盘针打开了世界市场,并建立了殖民地,而印刷术却变成新教的工具,并且一般地说,变成科学复兴的手段,变成创造精神发展的必要前提的最强大的推动力。”〔(注1)〕
