北京延庆县1997年全年旅游收入达到3.35亿元,比1996年增长了13%;接待游人574万人,比1996年增长了65%。 1997年,该县坚持“旅游牵动”的战略原则,调整了旅游结构,确立了旅游业由旅游观光型向观光度假型发展的目标,力图把延庆建设成为度假基地。为此,延庆县加大了旅游设施建设的力度,从而吸引了众多的中外游客,大大缩短了旅游淡季,这标志着延庆旅游设施的建设迈上了新的台阶。
