棉花叶枝通常叫油条,其生长势强,消耗养分多,能加剧营养生长和生殖生长的矛盾,在棉花整枝时,常把它掰掉,然而去掉叶枝后,又加速了叶腋间赘芽的生长,因此,一般在棉田管理中,每五天就需抹一次赘芽,费工、费时。为了改进棉花整枝技术,于1992～1994年,对麦套春棉和麦套夏棉进行了整枝试验,取得了较好的效果。
