棕榈科植物是一类独特的园林植物,它的根、茎、叶、花、果均有着自身特有的形态美。在园林空间中,它常单独或与其他景物同时出现。在热带亚热带各地区的园林中,棕榈科植物是应用频率最高的一类园林植物。棕榈科植物象征热带景观的特色,在不同的气候环境及景观题材中发挥着构景要素的巨大作用。该科植物共有3000多种,实际应用约为500余种。它们给园林绿化规划设计提供了充足的选择机会。
