The accuracy and quality of the ball nut thread surface layer have high requirements. Grinding threads with a semi-circular profile wheel of constant radius often results in grinding defects (burns and cracks) on one side of the thread surface. In order to find out the reasons for its formation, it is necessary to study the contact condition between grinding wheel and workpiece during grinding.
