陈荒煤是我的三姨父。第一次见他是在1949年春天,北平刚刚解放,我九岁。一天黄昏,我正在法通寺10号姥姥家大门院玩,见一个陌生男人穿着干部服来找三姨。三姨是前不久带着表妹好望从解放区回来的。我不认识他,他却能叫出我的名字。他就是三姨父陈荒煤。初次见面,他送我一套盛澄华主编的《世界童话文库》,十本。封面印着一棵大树,叶子是入选作品国的国旗,五颜六色,很漂亮。每本封面底色也不同。之前,我仅知道《白雪公主》、《灰姑娘》几篇童话,它让我眼界大开。以我小学三年级的文化水平,一篇篇看起来,爱不释手。生病住院也让妈妈给我念。从一开始,我就喜欢这位长辈,因为他给了我许多好看的书。
