海湾战争之后,美国新闻界与五角大楼之间,就美国军方企图操纵新闻的舆论导向和处心积虑地不让记者上前线采访,爆发了一场激烈的争论。令世人惊奇的是,此次伊拉克战争爆发前夕,美国军方不仅向美国媒体而且向世界各国媒体张开“欢迎的双臂”。
After the Gulf War, a drastic debate broke out between the U.S. press and the Pentagon on the media-oriented attempt of the U.S. military to manipulate the news and for deliberately keeping journalists from making front-line interviews. To the surprise of the world, on the eve of the Iraq war, the U.S. military not only opened its “arms of welcome” to the U.S. media but also to the media in various countries in the world.
