911是美国的报警电话号码,“9·11”事件则注定会成为美国历史的一座分水岭——“对美国的袭击将永远改变美国看待自己和看待世界的方式。”(《经济学家》)“过去美国人认为美国是世界,现在认识到美国是世界的一部分。”(CNN)而对中国来说,2001年同样有一座历史的分水岭,它来得并不突兀,却将影响未来。这就是中国即将加入 WTO 这一历史事件。我们认为,这一事件的意义在于,中国已经迈出的与世界现代化潮流接轨的开放之路,将无法再回头,而成为一条不归之路。
911 is the U.S. phone number for the alarm and the “September 11” incident is destined to become a watershed in American history - “Attacks on the United States will forever change how the United States sees itself and the world.” (Economist) “In the past, Americans regarded the United States as the world and now recognize that the United States is part of the world.” For CNN, the same watershed in history in 2001 was not unexpected but could affect the future. This is the historical event that China is about to join the WTO. In our opinion, the significance of this incident lies in the fact that the opening road that China has taken to align itself with the trend of world modernization will not be able to go back and become a road of no return.
