年逾花甲的共产党员石登高,1991年退休后就被商丘县司法局聘为义务人民调解员。他联合5位离、退休老同志(现已发展到24人),经过批准,自愿组建了城镇义务治调所,并毛遂自荐,担任了主任。几年来,他全身心地投入到人民调解事业中,带领全所同志先后成功地调处民间纠纷2300多起,帮助16名失足青少年获得新生,协助公安机关抓获犯罪分子55人,为群众做好事6000余起。这里记述的是他做好调解工作的几个事例。老石说:“家家欢笑,户户平安,
