王昭耀,安徽省委原副书记,2007年1月12日被山东省济南市中级人民法院以受贿罪、巨额财产来源不明罪一审判处死刑,缓期二年执行。法院经审理查明:1991年至2005年春节,王昭耀利用职务上的便利,为有关个人和单位谋取利益,先后294次非法收受44人和一些单位的贿赂共计人民币704万余元,另外,对649万余元财产不能说明合法来源。以下是根据王照耀在庭审时所作的陈述整理成文。
Wang Zhaoyao, former deputy secretary of Anhui Provincial Party Committee, was sentenced to death for two years by the Intermediate People’s Court of Jinan City, Shandong Province on January 12, 2007 for accepting bribes and having a huge amount of property with unknown origins. After hearing the court from 1991 to 2005, Wang Zhaoyao took advantage of his position to seek benefits for the individuals and units involved. 292 illegal bribes of 44 persons and some units totaled 704 million yuan. In addition, 649 million yuan of property can not explain the legal source. The following is based on the statement made by Wang Zhaoyao at trial.
